The 16th World Congress of the International Academy of Human Reproduction
The 16th World Congress of the International Academy of Human Reproduction was held in Berlin (Germany) on March 18-21, 2015.
The Georgian delegation, along with the leading scientists and clinicians from all over the world, participated in Congress work, including the General Director of Center for Reproductive Medicine “Universe” Teimuraz Gagnidze (MD, PhD), Deputy Director Prof. Jenero Kristesashvili (MD, PhD), Deputy Director Levan Kobaladze (MD, PhD, MPA), Deputy Director Maia Jashiashvili, Head of In-vitro Fertilization Department Iva Kutivadze and physician-gynecologist Nana Tabukashvili (MD, PhD).
Two presentations of Prof. Jenero Kristesashvili, “Termination of unplanned pregnancy and prior usage of contraception in Republic of Georgia” (Authors: J. Kristesashvili, T. Japaridze) and “Types of reproductive disorders in underweight and overweight young females since childhood and correlations of respective hormonal changes with BMI” (Authors: J. Kristesashvili, N. Chikvaidze, M.Gegechkori), have been of great interest congress participants as were covering very important and actual topics.
In addition, Prof. Kristesashvili was the co-author of one more presentation – “Assessment of Ovarian Reserve Tests for Prediction of In-vitro Fertilization Outcome” (Authors: L. Barbakadze, A. Khomasuridze, J. Kristesashvili, L. Pkhaladze).
The scientific novelty, actuality, performance level and the results of the researches conducted on the bases of the CRM “Universe” are completely compatible with the modern world standards and therefore, the representatives of different countries expressed their desire to cooperate with Georgian scientists in conduction of joint scientific researches as well as clinical affairs. During congress were planned visits of the leading scientists to Georgia in order to share modern foreign knowledge and experience with Georgian colleagues.
